Adolfo Sanchez named creative director for Queen Grace Collection

NAPLES, Fla. (Sept. 12, 2011) - Marina Zelner, creator of plus-size fashion company, Queen Grace, has announced the appointment of Adolfo Sanchez as the brand's creative director.

 

"Queen Grace Collection has experienced unprecedented growth in the industry," said Zelner. "We wanted an amazing, high-fashion designer working for the brand that shared our vision of empowering women and celebrating their strengths - no matter what size. We are thrilled to be working with him."

Sanchez began his journey in the fashion world as a teenager when a group of his friends schooled him on who's who of fashion. Later, he began working retail in large fashion houses such as Gucci and Versace. It wasn't until 2006, however, that he decided to take his creativity and love of fashion and develop a women's ready-to-wear line. After being featured in countless magazines and having the opportunity to work with a variety of people in the industry, Sanchez, 26, has since grown his business into a successful brand that offers collections for women that dare to be strong and different.

Now, he brings his unbelievable talent and raw determination to QGC and the plus-sized industry. "It was an honor to be approached by Queen Grace and given the opportunity of creating modern fashion forward garments for women of all shapes and sizes," said Sanchez. "Working with such an innovative company that empowers women all over the world is a true inspiration."

When it comes to design, Sanchez says most of his inspiration comes from experiences in his life, music, architecture or simply taking in his surroundings and allowing his mind to develop an idea. He also cites designers such as Cristobal Balenciaga, Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler and Alexander McQueen as sources of motivation.

Launch Triggers Overseas Expansion for 2011

On July 12th 2011, Australia’s Young Republic celebrated their official launch party at Sydney’s exquisite Aurora Bar & Lounge. The stylish venue was transformed into a luminous night-market displaying a

magnificent range of fashion, textiles, jewellery and lifestyle products.

Over 300 guests showed their support in attending the event spectacular from Australia’s first, interactive-marketplace for emerging and upcoming local designers. Sophisticated and eco-conscious shoppers took the opportunity to browse a fantastic array of products from designers Fiel Sol, TobyE Jewellery, Soot-ii Hothersall, TopazTurtle, Ipanema Girl, Dubbleyou and ATAT.

A Great Turn Out

A touch of impulse buying mixed with a glass of champagne and the mood was set for guests to witness the incredible fashion-installation from men’s and womenswear designers Casper&Pearl, Sovii, Das Monk, Evyie and Kid. 'Lifes' Moments - To be or NOT to be...

So you know those moments and I'm sure every body's had one of these at least once in their lifetime... If not I suppose your lucky in a way...

But for me reflection is something that happens to me almost on a daily basis and though it was a nuisance when I was younger, it is now one of my strongest assets. Only because it allows a certain amount of stepping back from all situations little or big, and in doing so therefore allows a "bigger picture" type perspective to also be incorporated into daily decisions and tasks...

So now to the point... This particular moment is the one where your usually doing the mundane and you're thinking back.. Often with thought of "what if I had done this then, instead of that...." or "If only I hadn't done that..." or the destructive " I really wish I hadn't done that...". These thoughts can only be helpful in small doses and if they are few and far between...
But to allow oneself to dwell for long periods of time in these thought processes can ultimately be damaging to ones confidence and self esteem... NOT GOOD..

So it's important I feel for individuals to understand that even though we may find ourselves in hard and uncomfortable circumstances, and regardless of whether those circumstances were of our own doing or beyond our control, nothing that has happened can be changed or altered, future reactions can equal them out, but you can't change the past...

Reality is most of the time no matter how much you wish something wasn't or is... you will probably find that some other circumstance that more than likely will prove positive, would never of occurred if things had not gone wrong or happened the way they did...

This basically is the whole "Every dark cloud has a silver lining" metaphoric moment... but regardless I felt the need to share the fact that they occur, as these moments are a part of everyday 'Life'...

But to be able to live an ultimately fulfilling 'Life'... it's important that these type of moments are recognised and accredited because they provide us with hindsight perspective... also it contributes to the whole aspect of problem solving....

But the ultimate aim in 'Life'... is to always look and move forward, no matter the setbacks... it's with these moments, combined with the determination to succeed, that we gain wisdom and knowledge to always be able to deal easier and better with all of 'Life's.. unpredictable and sometimes predictable circumstances...

Therefore to succeed in 'Life'... it is simply allowing ourselves to always and relentlessly grow....♥

Dion X Leigh ON AIR THIS FRIDAY 2DAYFM...!!!

New Zealand born singer/songwriter DionX has come a long way from a shy schoolboy, treading the boards as a young performer in his hometown of Palmerston North.

DionX has always had a strong creative streak.

His experience and interests have covered,  script-writing, modeling, acting, fashion design, upholstery, web and graphic design. As a result,  he is also a self-confessed work-aholic and an impatient perfectionist.

Music remains his first love and he has worked hard on his craft as a singer/songwriter and performer to be now co-producing his own material and working with international award winning producers.

DionX' career has spanned over several mediums such as music, television and live performances across Australia and New Zealand.

But DionX' big break came while appearing in the TVNZ reality show 'Make or Break'. Show-casing his performing talent, but also his ability to be resourceful and demonstrate brilliant business acumen, as he single-handedly and pro-actively managed his own segment overseeing all aspects of production - PR/film-crew/venue etc on a budget of NZ$300.00.

Proving huge budgets are not  the be all and end all to a projects success.

Soon after the 'Big Break' aired, DionX was on a plane and on his way to Australia where he continued to write and produce his own music as well as performing at local venues and community events, with more film/TV appearances such as the feature film 'The Extra'.

Musically DionX draws influences from artists such as Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Robbie Williams.

When asked what it is about these artists he likes he replies;  'All these artists are great performers and entertainers as well as formidable business entrepreneurs and they all show great admiration, respect and humility to their loyal fans. They inspire me to keep doing what I love everyday. Being on stage and performing is what I live for, it's where I find inner peace'.

DionX is most definitely a driven, ambitious entrepreneur who has achieved amazing results in the face of adversity and all the countless pit-falls this industry is known for.

Entries close 31st Oct & winners will be announced 14th Nov 2011.
Applicants must be over 16 years to apply.


*Conditions: 5 finalists will be determined by the public through Facebook where fans and friends will be asked to ‘like’ and ‘comment’ on their favourite
design, the 5 entrants who receive the highest amount of ‘Likes’ and ‘comments’ will each receive a 2Chillies Beach Kit valued at $49.95.
 

The major prize winner will be selected and judged by the 2Chillies Design Team and Brand Manager. The judge’s decision will be final.
 

The $500 2Chillies gift card will be arranged by 2Chillies to be redeemed at their local 2Chillies retailer or ordered direct from 2Chillies.
 

The weeks work experience will be with the 2Chillies Design team on the Gold Coast from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday during January 2012 at a date
arranged by both parties. All travel and accommodation expenses will be the responsibility of the winner.
 

The winning design may be sold as part of the 2Chillies Collection. All revenue raised will belong to 2Chillies.

• Images: Photos of the participating and winning applicants may be published on the 2Chillies Website, Facebook or a form of print media promoting the brand.

• Designs: All winning designs will become the property of 2Chillies and may be used in the future as part of the 2Chillies collection.

On Friday 15th July the elegant surroundings of the Piano Room invite you to step into the [Photo Studio] where Professional Photographer Ben Scott will make YOU the supermodel. We will have a section of Piano Room set up with a Professional Photo Shoot.

Greeted with complimentary champagne on arrival, all guests are welcome to be snapped in our Professional Photo Studio for a test shoot. The images will be edited and emailed to you at no charge. In addition each guest will receive a $100 Gift Voucher for a Professional Photo Shoot with Ben Scott.

The highlight of the night will be a Fashion Show of SHEIKE new Spring Collection. Party the night away with a Live Performance by Mr Wilson plus DJs Beth Yen, Titty Tassle's & Zero Cool.
